This hidden gem can read a variety of modern and ancient formats including PDF, eBook, comic book, scan outputs and help files. It is fast, lightweight, feature-rich, customizable and free. Although only available for Windows, this has historical precursors. Sumatra still represents the best traditions of open source in terms of development, maintenance and community support. Time and time again, I revert to this lean-and-mean sidekick to get me out of a bind. By comparison, too many of its modern peers are all show and no substance.
